LAMPSHADE 1.02 WORKSHOP Sunday 3rd November 1 - 4pm
In this workshop you’ll learn how to transform your own old, shabby or boring lampshade into a thing of beauty! There is no sewing, glueing or pegging involved, just professional techniques using premium quality materials as used in the trade.
Previous lampshade-making experience is recommended (either one of our beginner workshops* or experience gained elsewhere) but NOT essential.
Students who attended Lampshade 1.01 earlier today are welcome to stay to attend this workshop to make a day of it. A discount of $15.00 is applicable for attending both workshops on the one day. (See separate listing for the UPHOLSTERY 1.01 Beginners' workshop).
The price listed is for a small-medium size drum or empire shade, made using a shade you bring . If your shade is larger than this the price will be adjusted accordingly.
It's essential to email me pics and dimension of the shade you are planning on bringing, prior to the workshop, to establish actual price for workshop.
Please note: this workshop is for hard-sided shades only (with a PVC or cardboard-like backing to fabric), not soft shades where the fabric is stretched over the frame.
If you don’t have already own a shade or lamp in need of makeover we can supply a one for you.
Everything is included in the workshop price except fabric, which you can BYO or buy from us. (Fabrics are available for purchase from the Rapt showroom in Jamberoo, where you can choose from a selection of fabric in stock, or pre-order from sample-stock direct from the suppliers. Fabric prices are well below RRP. There will also be a small choice of fabric available on the day of the workshop).
A newly available option is to make a lined shade (like the blue with birds lining shown in pic). There'll be an extra cost for this because of the materials cost, and the exact cost will depend on what size/shape shade you make. A price estimate can be worked out in advance and will be payable on the day.
This workshop is run from BOTTOMS' END, the Rapt workroom located in idyllic country surroundings at the end of a quiet country lane in the beautiful Jamberoo Valley NSW, (approximately half an hour south of Wollongong - an easy 2.5 hrs-ish from Sydney, or Canberra). Participant numbers are limited, so you are guaranteed personal tuition, in a relaxed and lighthearted atmosphere. Being a country event, morning tea is (of course!) included.
An info sheet of everything you need to know will be provided on booking, or if you contact me direct.
If you know someone who might like doing this, or another workshop on another date, Gift Vouchers are available from our showroom, or by mail.
